Communication.

We encourage open communication between the educators, management and families. Our educators are dedicated to the children and invested in their welfare. Educators will either call parents or approach parents at the beginning or end of a day/session if there is something that they feel parents should know immediately.

For other feedback, parents are encouraged to make an appointment with their child’s teacher or room leader. This gives staff the opportunity to give parents detailed feedback in an environment where they will not be interrupted. Parents are also welcome to use email to contact our staff using info@bwfcc.org.au or your room leader’s direct BWFCC email.

BOARD

The Board and management team also encourages feedback and suggestions from parents. Please contact us on 03 9676 8400 or at reception. We utilise our annual parent survey to gain feedback to improve our programs and services. Our management team look forward to welcoming you with any queries you may have.

Our Board Update is circulated throughout year and includes reports from the Board as well as information about any important developments at BWFCC.

MANAGEMENT

A weekly memo is sent to families to keep you updated on important news each week and will include as information about management, staff, upcoming dates, MCH and other services at BWFCC.

EDUCATORS

Regular reflections are sent by educators to families to keep you updated on what is happening in our programs. Programs and reflections are displayed in each room. Parent contributions and ideas around your child’s interests can be written on these documents and are welcomed and encouraged by staff. This assists us in planning to your child’s individual needs, and supports our goal of developing a love of learning in each child.

PARENT ZONE

Our parent zone in the reception area provides families with helpful hints on managing behaviour and raising resilient, confident and social children.

The notice boards around the service also contain information relevant to the service. We encourage you to look at them regularly.

QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

In our reception area we have our quality improvement wall. We encourage and rely on families to share snap shots of the aspects they love about our centre, as well as areas they feel we can improve on. We have stationery available for you to write your ideas and post these on the quality improvement wall. There is a time lapse camera positioned in our reception area that captures the development of the plan. This footage will be submitted to the Department of Education to demonstrate our commitment to quality improvement at Bubup Womindjeka.
